For nearly a decade, I have worked as a criminal defense lawyer—a profession I am passionate about and deeply enjoy. Over the years, I have represented numerous clients across Spain and I am currently the founder of Barbancho Legal, a boutique law firm specializing in international criminal law in Spain, where I am dedicated to defending rights and ensuring fair trials across jurisdictions.

What has always set me and my colleagues apart is our strong international focus. For many years now, we have understood that in today’s globalized world, mastering the mechanisms of international judicial cooperation in criminal matters makes all the difference when it comes to the success of cross-border cases.

Our daily work involves representing clients in international matters falling under Spanish jurisdiction and/or advising fellow legal professionals abroad in cross-border issues, often serving as an expert—even before UK courts.

My specialization in the international field has led me to serve on the Board of Directors of the European Criminal Bar Association, as well as to represent the Spanish Bar Council in several European projects. On the other hand, the need to stay up to date drives us to be regular participants in all major international criminal law forums. In addition, I am a regular lecturer in criminal law at the Barcelona Bar Association.

It is from a deep conviction that effective defense in transnational matters requires reliable experts in other jurisdictions that I am proud to be part of JDT.
